Standard License – Archival Footage Service
This license applies to all archival content available for purchase on archivalfootageservice.com, including archive clips and curated bundles. It does not apply to Film Effects, which are governed by a separate commercial license.
1. Grant of Rights
Archival Footage Service grants the client a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide, and perpetual license to use the purchased material across all media formats and platforms.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Films and documentaries (non-broadcast or limited release)
- Online content such as YouTube and social media
- Personal, artistic, or educational projects
- Commercials, promos, and branded content for small or independent entities
- Marketing, promotional, and advertising materials directly related to the above uses
2. Restrictions
The client may not:
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the footage as standalone files
- Transfer the license to third parties without prior written consent
- Use the footage in unrelated productions or new projects without a new license
- Claim copyright ownership of the footage
- Use the footage in defamatory, misleading, or harmful contexts
3. Copyright Clarification
The footage offered by Archival Footage Service originates from home movies shot between the 1950s and 1980s, often by amateur filmmakers whose identities are unknown or untraceable.
While Archival Footage Service does not hold the legal copyright to the footage, it is the sole custodian of the only known analog copies, which have been digitised and restored to preserve their historical and cultural value.
All sensitive or private content has been carefully removed prior to publication.
The client is solely responsible for ensuring that the use of the material complies with applicable copyright laws, industry standards, and clearance requirements. Archival Footage Service makes no warranties regarding the ownership status of the footage.
4. Broadcast & Large-Scale Productions
If the footage is intended for use in:
- Major broadcast or theatrical release
- Netflix, Amazon, or other large streaming platforms
- International film distribution
- Large-scale institutional, museum, or commercial projects

Additional licensing fees may apply based on the scope of distribution and usage.
5. Legal Terms
This license agreement is formed when the client completes the purchase on archivalfootageservice.com. All prices shown on the website represent offers to the public under the context of distance selling.
The client accepts all terms outlined in this license at the time of purchase and acknowledges that the purchase and use of the footage are subject to these conditions.
In the event of a breach of any of the obligations stated herein, Archival Footage Service reserves the right to terminate this license.
